Originally from Boise, Idaho, Edmund J. “Joe” Gorman came to Reno, Nevada for its year-round outdoor activities, vibrant community events, and for the western pace of life that makes the ‘Biggest Little City’ a friendly and welcoming place to live. Outside of the office, Joe enjoys skiing, hiking, and hunting waterfowl. Joe also enjoys spending time with his wife, Lauren, and sons Elijah, 13, and Moses, 7.
Joe Gorman is a graduate of Tulane University (B.A. 2003, summa cum laude), the University of New Mexico (M.A. 2006, with distinction), and Stanford Law School (J.D. 2009, with pro bono distinction). Joe is licensed to practice in all courts of the State of Nevada, United States District Court for the District of Nevada, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada. He served as the 2015-2016 Chair of the Solo and Small Practice Section of the State Bar of Nevada, and is a member of the Washoe County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Joe serves as the Chief Judge in the tribal court of the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe, and is a pro tem Justice of the Peace in Washoe County.
In addition to providing comprehensive legal services for Nevada families and businesses of all sizes, Joe Gorman is committed to serving Nevada’s community organizations and our neediest residents. Joe was named “2015 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year” by Nevada Legal Services. He is a member of the Reno Host Lions Club, and serves as President of the Reno Host Lions Club Charity Foundation. Combining his love of live music with his community efforts, Joe is a member of the board of directors of the Reno Jazz Orchestra, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
